OSHA's Top 10 Most Cited Violations for 2019
OSHA recently released the top 10 OSHA violations for fiscal year 2019. For the ninth consecutive year, General Requirements for Fall Protection is number one.
This year’s top 10 is relatively the same as last year’s, though number 4 and 5 have exchanged places. The OSHA top 10 is split between construction and general industry related violations.

Top 10 "serious" violations, fiscal year 2019
A “serious” violation is defined by OSHA as “one in which there is substantial probability that death or serious physical harm could result, and the employer knew or should have known of the hazard.”
Top 10 "willful" violations, fiscal year 2019
OSHA defines a “willful” violation as one “committed with an intentional disregard of or plain indifference to the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and requirements.”
The data represents the top 10 most frequently violated OSHA standards from Oct. 1, 2018, to Sept. 30, 2019, and reflects only federal OSHA violations. The data is current as of Nov. 1, 2019.
